CYNTH WEYMAN:
Contemporary textile reliefs and paintings

I love to discover images within images that in our busy lives we might just miss.

Welcome to Cynth’s studio and garden. Welsh artist inspired by the sea, countryside, rocks, plants and figures. Some pieces have a combination of inspired themes.
If Cynth is not creating in paint or textiles she is creating with plants in her garden, so this year both studio and garden are open to the public during Open Studios.  A  hot/cold drink awaits you.

Cynth looks forward to seeing you this summer.

Every picture tells a story initially in paint, oil pastels or ink. Images are then transformed into textiles. Her own textile technique named ‘Intaglio stratta’ is based on layered and cut work enhanced by embroidery, beads and seeds. Cynth uses many rich colourful and textured Indian silks, cotton and wool fabrics, which she has gathered on her travels.
Larger pieces are suitable for behind sofas, and beds, landings and stairs. Many visitors have linked Cynth’s work with stained glass. For special commissions in homes, hotel foyers or other public places, she is happy to produce textile artworks towards stained glass panels produced by other stained glass artists thus offering multi-media partnership pieces.
Originals, framed prints and cards are available for sale.
